Meet Your Attorney-CPA
The Attorney-CPA Difference
With a decade of CPA experience, I see the financial details others might miss. I view your estate through both a legal and financial lens to ensure your plan is precise and your family is protected from future headaches.
Planning for People, Not Just Assets
Your legacy is about more than numbers. I bring your family's goals and financial reality together into one clear plan, giving you the peace of mind that comes from knowing your loved ones are secure.
Clarity, Not Confusion
Legal strategies shouldn't be a puzzle. I promise to trade the 'lawyer-speak' for plain English, making sure you understand every step of the process and feel confident in your decisions.
Your Trusted Estate Advisor
Michael Polkoff
My Journey to Polkoff Law
I didn’t leave my financial background behind when I started Polkoff Law; I brought it with me to help families find some peace of mind. I became an estate planner because I realized that behind every bank statement or deed, there is a person trying to protect what they’ve built for the people they love.
A Financial Eye for Family Protection
Before becoming a lawyer, I spent a decade as a CPA at PwC. My job was to dig into the fine print of massive financial deals to make sure there were no hidden surprises. While my work there was corporate, it gave me a deep understanding of how money, assets, and taxes actually move.
Today, I use that same due diligence mindset to help you navigate the tax issues that often come with passing down a legacy. I look under the hood of your finances to make sure your plan is solid, helping you avoid the financial potholes that can catch families off guard.
Seeing the Big Picture
During law school, I worked with the SEC’s Enforcement Division and the DOJ’s U.S. Trustee Program. That experience stayed with me. I saw firsthand how much stress is created when assets aren’t managed with transparency and care. It taught me that a truly thoughtful plan is one that removes the guesswork, giving your family a clear path to follow when they need it most.
I’ve shifted my focus from corporate boardrooms to family living rooms, using that same eye for detail to help you stay ahead of the curve with a solid, careful plan.
Why I Do This
Estate planning can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. I’m here to take the technical weight off your shoulders. I handle the complex numbers and the legal paperwork so that you can stay focused on what matters most — the people you love.
